<itunes:summary>The weather was cold as Captain Canelli has a patrol car take him to the scene of a domestic dispute. He's in time to find, and tail his suspects in a stolen car. Besides the car, stolen goods are found inside it.

In voiceover, Canelli tells the depth of the robbers activities. While they're being held, the thieves tell their story, and there's a small mystery over exactly what they have in their suit cases. Listen in for the interrogation techniques that draw out the confessions, with the cops playing the suspicions of one thief against another.

The cops work with other precincts, departments, and even with police in other states to get the goods on these criminals. The owners of the car and luggage are found, and help with identification of their property.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>While shopping, Candy runs into an old friend who is working as a department store advertising manager. She needs Candies help with the case of the missing Santa Claus Helper, Jack Frost. What's Candy to do? Her soft heart for the kiddies has gotten her into another tight spot.

She consults her friend Rembrandt about the missing helper. Maybe he can find a model in his photography book to stand in for the missing Santa's helper. Reluctantly, he gets roped into the job of wearing the red suit himself.

Suddenly, Candy is called in to the department store by a worried store manager. The missing Jack Frost has been killed, so she's off to chat with police pal, Ray Mallard. Her concern for Rembrandt is that he looks like the missing man. Could his life be in danger? As bodies continue to stack up, it sure looks like it.

I think police detective, Ray Mallard is sweet on Candy, but it seems that he has ultireor motives when he tries to get close to her. Things are going well. In a tender moment with Mallard, mystery rears it's head when a body is found. Plot twists explode. Who is the killer, and why is he doing it?

Get all the clues you need as you listen in to see if Candies plan works.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>When Vic gets word of the happenings at the Stembottoms, he becomes indignant. Being the polite person she is, Sade has accepted an invitation to play cards.

So, why is Vic bent out of shape? It's all just a ruse to get Vic over so he can help Fred install a concrete partition. Rather than a fun round of cards, the evening will be spent getting grubby, and doing manual labor. Vic is ready to give Fred a piece of his mind, which makes Sade worry that somebody will be insulted by Vic's words.

To his credit, Vic puts Fred on the spot without being harsh. Though Sade sees Vic's point about being misused by their friends, she still feels sorry for Ruthie, and being caught in the middle of the power play between the two menfolk.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Orson Wells walks us through a few of the exhibits in the Black Museum before stopping to feature today's display. In England it's customary to have bon fires through the land on November 5th. This year though one of the bon fires turned out to be a car that was set ablaze. Closer examination makes the discovery that there is a body inside the car.

The scraps of evidence get the cops started looking for the owner of the car, and there's the matter of a man seen running from the scene. What's that all about? What does the scant evidence at the blaze mean?

Mrs Williams comes forward, claiming the car was her husbands. Robert Williams is a man with secrets, which we learn more about as the case unfolds. It doesn't take long before another Mrs Williams is found, then another and... would you believe a total of 4 and a half? With all those woman woes, did Robert Williams commit suicide in his car? Did his wives gang up on him to do away with him? Is there some other explanation? Evidence at the crime scene paints a different kind of picture. A clue comes in from that almost 5th wife, but have the cops found the real Robert? Can they piece together the on site clues to recreate the events of the crime?

How did the crime go down, and who was the burned up victim? Listen in to get all the clues from the drama, and the voiceover from Orson, and you'll have it figured out as well.</itunes:summary>

There's just a few snags to work out. Cedric needs to be a property owner, and have a telephone to be contacted with.

The whole process is confusing to Abner, but Cedric is determined to be honored with his library card. After Lum is sufficiently agrivated and leaves, Squire comes over to let Abner know that his lions are ready, but it'll cost him a little more than first expected. Still, it appears the library is about to have the lion that Lum wanted. Or at least the lion that Abner thought that Lum wanted.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>After a recent show in San Diego the cast members are back in the studio. Gracie talks about the men she flirted with, and George tries to cover up the fact that he has a black eye. After taking abuse from each of the cast, George finally tells a version of how he got his shiner, but is he telling all the truth? Artie Shaw plays a sultry number, Yesterday.

A Mexican visitor invites George to return to Tiajuana, where he got his black eye, but George isn't so sure he wants to go. In flashback mode we find the cast in Mexico, and time is running short to make the border crossing. Can George make it back across the border in time, before it closes? The Smoothies sing, Now that You've Got Me This Way.

The whole cast is stranded South of the border, but Gracie flirts with the guard, in hopes of distracting him so the others can sneak back across. Will it work? Will the truth about George's black eye be told? With the big flashback sequence done, will George take up the invitation to return to Mexico?</itunes:summary>

Don't worry, that'll make more sense when you listen.

In the studio, Don Bestor plays, but his song is snipped. Jack jokes on music, the sponsor, Don Wilson being cheap. That's right Don Wilson is cheap. Jack didn't quite corner that treait at this point in his famous career.

Jokes also include being in the movies, but Mary's remarks brings Jack down. Don's next number is snipped as well. Frank Parker enters for a few jokes about the theater scene in town. In the process, Frank invites Jack to visit him at home and meet his folks. As Jack leaves the audience in the hands of Don Bestor, his number is again snipped.

The visit at Franks turns into a musical, operetic spoof as Jack meets the musical family. Jack and Mary have some fun with the musical conversation as they hold their own.</itunes:summary>

Here's one with a glimpse at the beginnings of how the wright brothers came to invent the airplane. we learn of a failed glider attempt that inspired them, and the accomplishment of building Their own flying machine.

Ideas are tossed off each of the other Wright brothers to perfect the machine. Now it's time for the big day. Suspenseful moments, and last minute fears hang in the air. In voiceover, we learn of a few more famous names in aviation, and that thus far, no attempts have been a success. will they get off the ground? I think you know, and it's just as well since the audio is cut a tad short before the ending is made known. Actually, about ahalf of the show is missing. <itunes:summary>The man with the action packed expense account, Johnny Dollar. Johnny pays a call at the estate of the wealthy Harold Trandom. An attempt on his life was made, and while Johnny is talking over the matter, a shot rings out, and Harold Falls dead from the bullet. Where did the shot come from? Who had the opportunity to do it? With his cantankerous attitude, there's a long list of people who might have had it out for Mr Trandom.

Mrs Trandom is a woman who had it all, money, furs, a comfortable life, but she lived in a bitter marriage without love. Who is Lila? Charities are also the recipient of the dead Harold's wealth, and might have a reason to inherit them earlier. To learn the truth, Johnny races to find out what dirt that he might be able to dig up.

Aided by Harold's former bodyguard, Max, Johnny makes the rounds to fill out the slate of characters and their motives for the murder. A manhunt is in full swing to find the fleeing Mabel Transom before another murder is on their hands. Did Mabel kill her husband? Who wants her dead? Listen in and these questions won't be mysteries any longer. Get ready for a happy, and just ending that Johnny doesn't always get the opportunity to experience.</itunes:summary>

He has become such a success that he wants to turn around and pay for his dad, a hard working immigrant, to enroll at Ivy.

After the big dance, the older man spends some time with the Halls. The concern is how well he might fit in with a crowd that is one third his age. Will the older man be honored, and take up the offer of further education?

There are decisions to be made, and it's off to yet another party. This one is a stag party for the graduating seniors to get in a few last minute thrills. Dad has a word to say about receiving his son's gift, but it's one that money can't buy.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Audio is weak and muffled sounding, something of an ear bender so be warned.

The topic of the day is on the reach of Nazi Germany around the globe. This shouldn't come as too much of a surprise since just about all European nations had colonies around the world, including the various island chains, South East Asia, and South America. Germany had ties to several South American nations, and after the war became notorious hide outs for Nazi war criminals. Though today's propaganda points out the number of Germans living in South America, we also had ties to those countries, and even instituted the "Good Neighbor" policy in order to win the hearts of the people and politicians to our favor. Fortunately, and wisely South American countries hung back and were able to remain neutral throughout the war.

Were there actually puppet governments in South America, ran by the Germans? Was there any real danger that the Germans were stockpiling arms and smuggling them through South America? The drama seems to have documentation to prove that the threats were real.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>There's happy news for Vic, and as he giggles over the letter from the lodge, Sade tries to guess what it might be about, and Russel comes home. What could make Vic so giddy? He is to do a solo march for the Missouri State Home for the Tall. Since parades and marching are one of Vic's most favorite of hobbies, he goes into great detail about the finer points of marching, and the service that he'll be providing for the inmates of the home. Inmates?

Trivia:
Mis' Nagle, who was not only Rush's freakishly strong Sunday School teacher but also Russell's, can chin herself 23 times.
Arthur K. Van Beebunk (not named in this episode but was in an earlier one) was a boyhood chum of Homer U. McDancey.
Vic had done some marching at the C and A Depot a couple of weeks prior to this episode.
Homer U. McDancey has "lovely" penmanship, according to Sade.
Ed Fife was mentioned for the first time. He's a friend of Russell's; he plans on going with the gang down to the YMCA to watch the fat men play handball.

Sidney Ryecroft has been kidnapped, and time is short. Will a payoff be forced, or can Johnny manage to turn the tables? There's no garantees with a kidnapper, and though the money is dropped off, Johnny has to nervously await word for when and where to pick up Sidney Ryecroft. While he does, he learns that shady events may have been afoot. Sidney is a champion boxer, but is the kidnapping a fraud, or not? Who would benefit from his being taken out of action? Or who might benefit from his timely release?

<itunes:summary>Sending the show out to the troops, Fred appends a special message to the beginning of the show. Still trying out a few new cast members, Fred jokes with his new announcer, Arthur Godfrey. The news of the week features the metal drives and shortages. Falstaff Openshore intrudes to add his poetic touch. His poem is titled, we've Got to Show Our Metal. Benay Venuta sings, Everythin I Got Belongs to Yu.

Portland enters to talk about the new womens branch of the Coast Guard, but Fred can't be bothered by that. He's worried about Orson wells appearring amid screams of joy from Portland and busy stage hands who pave the way for the great prodigy of radio. what does Orson expect, red carpet and trumpet fanfare? Don't be surprised if he does.

Orson confronts Fred over jokes that have been made about him in the past on the show. Orson dispells the superman myths that circulate about his genius. Sort of. The play is Les Miserables, and it's a special arrangement written specially by Orson to feature himself and Fred. After some transitioning music from Al Goodman, the production gets started.

Despite splitting the lines and roles in a 50 - 50 split, Orson only hogs the stage a little, and leaves Fred fighting for a line.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Harlow wilcox opens with the commercial and sets the stage for a freezing cold Fibber. He's awaiting a shipment of coal, and is visited by a plumber, or at least his helper. The Old Timer stops in to talk about the stormy weather, then gets busy with the work of heating the house in the basement. A phone call to Uppington is intercepted by Myrt the phone operator. Billy Mills stops in and Donald Novas heats things up with a song, I Have Eyes Only for You.

Fibber goes outside to brave the elements to talk to the water department about his frozen pipes. Bea Benaderet is the secretary for water Commissioner, Gildersleeves. except for this gazg his name is VanMeter. Being valentines day, a quick joke is made on that topic as Fibber tries to get his pipes thawed, and takes care of his water bill. On the way home, Abigail Uppington meets Fibber on the street to talk about her love affair with Boomer.

Harlow delivers up a sleigh full of Valentines, and the mid show commercial. Back on the way home Fibber finds Nick, his Greek neighbor, who tells about his 6 kids, and skating. The Four Notes sing, Sing for Your Supper. Back home, Boomer enters to get warm and shares about the love affair with Abigail from his side of the relationship.

How's the Old Timer coming along with getting the fire turned back on in the furnace? When you listen in, you'll know as much as Fibber does.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Cathy and Elliot talk about the social and cultural etiquette of yeling. we find Stan Finster (Elliot) stopped in traffic, getting a ticket. At home he tells Dora (Cathy) all about his traffic ordeal, and of his plans to fight city hall. Later, at work Stan spends time on the job researching the laws, and a way he can fight back. As his crusade to stand against city hall grows, will he get any support from his friends at the office? why not just pay the $5 fine and get it over with?

The days turn into weeks, but will Stanley find his loophole? will Stanley have his revenge? will all his time studying and losing sleep be wasted?

Stanley gets his big moment in the sun, but there just might be a matter that he overlooked in his intensive study of the traffic code. will Stanley stand on his principal's and be willing to go to jail to prove his point? I think some bail money will be called for, if Dora can scrounge up a few dollars from Stan's poker buddies. Despite his misadventures, will Stanley be satisfied with the result of his crusade?</itunes:summary>

In the cafeteria, Connie talks with Boynton about his parents, and family life when he was growing up. Today is Connie's big chance to meet the parents, and see if there could be any hope for her future with Mr Boynton.

Trying to make a good impression, Connie rushes home to get the house fixed up for Mr Boynton's visiting parents. Mrs Davis does her part by sending out the furniture to be repaired. what can go wrong when it's in the hands of Stretch Snodgrass. when the Boyntons arrive early, Connie is caught as far as possible from being prepared, and in less than impressive conditions. The parents seem oblivious to the unkempt appearance of Connie, and her missing chairs, but there's more fun as we meet the Boynton's.

There's sure to be mix ups when the boyntons open a Mothers Day gift that wasn't meant for them. walter even shows up with a special Mother's day song for Connie.

PS: Silly me, I thought this one sounded familiar. I just found this posted last year: Our Miss Brooks – Mister Boyntons Parents. 490508. Check it out, I think it's the same show, just rebroadcast from year to year.</itunes:summary>

Previously, Casey and Ann had crossed paths with Mr Blain and helped him solve a crime against him. In the Blue Note, our heros tell Ethylbert about trouble they found in the story. Is Blain really cured, or is there a scam going down? Back at the mansion, secrets and fears are shared by Blain's daughter. Has this scam moved into the realm of murder?

All it takes is drawing the attention of the watchful Casey, and the cops rush in. The shaky fraud is easily blown apart. Casey and Ann gives the big summary to Ethylbert as they return to the Blue Note. Listen in to see how the switch of healthy men for sickly ones was carried out.

But wait, there's still one fired up daughter to deal with. Family secrets, and a history of hatred explode.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>On a wintery night we join in as a foursome enjoys an evening of playing bridge. Though the events seem normal, be alert for clues to a mystery. Meanwhile, as Doctor Danfield and Rusty Fairfax drive down the road, they're flagged down by a woman, claiming that her card playing husband was shot dead from a mystery shooter from the window. Doc Danfield goes inside to examine the crime scene, but the woman's story isn't matching up with the facts he finds.

Does Dan have reason to doubt Blanche Hardy's story? when a body makes its appearance, the story becomes more and more complicated. How did the lone body get into the car, miles away? what do the tracks in the snow mean?

The cops are beginning to figure out what happened, but Doc Danfield takes it further and claims to know who the killer is. Is he right? Are the Thayers, the card playing friends of the Hardy's, guilty? How can Dan prove it? what would their motive be for the murder?

There's still a missing link in the chain of evidence, and Doc Danfield is zeroing in on it fast. He'll be stepping into danger before he can spring his final trap. Stay tuned and see if you can figure this out first, but stand by for a twist. Of course, Dan explains it all to Rusty at the end.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Tension hangs in the air as CBS reporters stand by to share the details of the events at Fort Sumpter, and the opening events of the Civil war.

Provisions are running low, and a blockade has been going on since the election of Abraham Lincoln. inside the fort, officers work through the logistics of resupply, and the dangers of facing fire from the Confederate guns. CBS reporters analyze the possibilities of a peaceful surrender of the Fort. In washington, Abraham Lincoln tells his official stance on the matter. Issues behind the rift that could lead to war are mentioned: The Constitution, slavery, and dissolving the union of the states.

Switching to the seat of the Confederate government in Montgomery Alabama, reporters get the word from Jefferson Davis. The Southerners feel this situation is a throwing down of the gauntlet. They feel that promises from the capital have been withheld, and there's no other option than to take Fort Sumpter by force. Back at the fort, a party atmospere rules the day on shore as civilian onllokers fall out in full force.

will they get a show of fireworks today? The band plays Dixie, as the crowds cheer. Doesn't anybody realize the far reaching repercussions of what firing this first shot will mean? Everybody seems to know but nobody seems to care. The festivities breakdown into a blow by blow report as frantic reporters broadcast the battle.

<itunes:summary>After Lum had made special plans for a quiet, romantic dinner with Miss Fredericks, his friends ruined the mood with a surprise party. He and Abner fills in a few details about the spoiled evening.

Has Lum lost out on the affections of the school teacher? Abner gets confused over the college education of Miss Fredericks, and what her degree is all about. Abner somehow thinks she's wanting to be in the lodge, and ends up giving Lum the idea to start the library in the Jot 'Em Down store.

The confusion isn't quite over as Lum talks about what will be involved with rounding up books, and the service and benefit it will bring to Pine Ridge.

PS: As it turns out, the library will turn out to be more than just a passing business idea. The library will remain part of the store through the rest of the series.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>The tale involves a blind man, and his guide dog. When the dog shows up in the hands of the sheriff, he's joined by Texas Ranger, Jase Pearson, and travelling through some rough terrain, the dog leads them back to his wounded master. Will they make it in time to help the injured man?

Investigation turns up the blind man's past. He was a bank robber who was locked away in prison. During his time behind bars, he went blind, and lately has been trying to live the straight life with his dog. How did he end up in the middle of the desert with his dog searching for help?

Before the former bandit was locked up, he hid his loot in a cave in the desert, but his only landmarks to find it again was his memory of visual landmarks. How can a blind man find those visual cues? Who might he trust to help him? It looks like he picked the wrong people. Listen in and learn how the Texas Rangers resolve this case. According to reliable sources, this is a true story, and the missing treasure the blind criminal was looking for is still out there, elusive to all treasure seekers thus far.

Bonus Track:
Hank Williams. 1949. Move It on Over.

PS: Police dramas took a big change in direction when Dragnet hit the airwaves in 1949. In 1950 the Tales of the Texas Rangers came on the scene to take advantage of this new popularity, mixing westerns with police drama. It also based its stories on real cases, with names changed to protect the innocent. The lead character traveled with a horse trailer, just in case the pursuit of a bad guy took them to places where there were no roads. One thing I appreciate about the gritty, realistic police dramas of the era of old time radio is that it shows that some things haven't changed much. The so called good old days were still filled with a disreputable criminal element. Murder, drugs, theft, and more. Not the glossed over mastermind criminals of such radio serials as Superman, Dick Tracey, or the Green Hornet.

Not long ago I read a newspaper editorial where someone wrote in to complain about the sorry state of crime in the city. To include such things as gangs, drugs and the poor choices of clothing styles that our young people dress themselves in these days. You know, skimpy and revealing clothes, droopy drawers, under pants exposed, that kind of thing. Well, they may have a point with the poor taste in modern clothes, but the crime situation wasn't really any better back then, as these old police dramas point out. If anything the criminals were just as ruthless, and the law was more strict back then. Judges routinely administered the death penalty and the delivery of that justice was swift.

Elsewhere on the prairies, weak and sickly, Ed horpe and his wife die before Matt can take them to town for help. All that's left is their little baby. Mrs Nadler and husband Joe have come to town for supplies, and maybe even volunteer to take the baby. Suspicious things are going down though.

Are the Nadlers trustworthy? Are they as poor as they seem, or just a couple cattle rustling thieves? The charge takes a serious turn when murder enters the picture. Listen and learn how justice is done, and who ends up with that baby, if anybody.</itunes:summary>

Frankie comes over to help with the dishes, and the two decide to prepare a gourmet meal for dinner. What will it be Southern cooking? French coussine? How about a nice turkey dinner. Alice sings, You Were Meant for Me.

Frankie arrives home with a 56 pound tom turkey, and only a short time left until dinner. When Julius is added to the mix the kitchen antics come to a broil. Amazingly, the turkey dinner ends up being just the thing for Alice, but it's not due to any of Phil's culinary skills.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>What happened this day in news? What were the hot topics of concern?

Robert Krout reports on the National Day of Prayer.
Island attacks, fighting on Okinawa, New Guinea, and elsewhere in the Pacific theater.
Rumors of Himler's capture in Germany.
A remote to England and a live report by Edward Murrow who describes of the air armada as it flies a mission over London at sunset.

warren Sweeney delivers the commercial from New York.

Robert Kraut hands off to Larry Laseur in France to report on flags waving to greet the Americans, rolling in to displace the Germans.
A picture of Russian tankers rolling through Austria is portrayed.
George Fielding Elliot reports from San Fransisco on the supply lines to the fronts in the Pacific.
A commentary on how Japanese air power is weakened, and inaffectual.
George Moran reports on the security conference in town. Reshifting of world power, including South America are on the table.
A report from a military leader on desiring an end to the war, and how nations should take over toppled governments.
what other aims wil the conference deal with? It's reaches are limited, but a stepping stones to the future.
Back in New York, a report that Truman is sending to Japanese leders. Surrender, or be devastated.
Despite the surrender, pockets of fighting still exist in Germany. How should the German soldiers be viewed? who should be held responsible for starting the war? for losing it? Are there parallels with the Germany of 1918? will the Nazi party survive?

Warren Sweeney is back for a closing commercial, and a plug to send v-mail to the troops to boost morale.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>The school meeting is to be tonight, but the only ones to attend are Eve Goodwin, Gildersleeves, and Judge Hooker. The two gents are to compete to be the resident expert on child psychology for the school board. As the big man goes home, he discovers another of the Bullard family. Craig Bullard is a little kid, who Leroy is only lured into playing with when he has a patsy to try out his magic tricks, and do some creative trading of toys.

Gildersleeves tries to finish his speech and presentation on the more passive approach to child care, but between distractions with arguing kids, Birdie leaving for the day, and being roped into babysitting Craig, he has his hands full.

Showing off his parenting skills, Gildy takes Craig to Peavey's for lunch. The unflappable Peavey just may habve been flapped today. Gildy gets his patience and parenting pushed a little closer to his limits once Marjorie comes home with Marshall Bullard.

How will the big debate go? Might he and the judge find a different way to resolve their matter, and differing stances on child rearing?</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Candy gets a phone call concerning a confidential matter. Even though it interrupts her day sunbathing at her penthouse apartment, and her enjoyment of listening to the football game, it pays cash up front, so she's on the case.

A local restaurant owner has a problem of a body in his walk in freezer. To make it fairly wierd, it's a body in a devil suit. To keep his up scale business respectable, Candy does what she can to figure out the murder. With her friend Rembrandt, she approaches police detective Mallard to put out some feelers, but keep things discrete. Is that possible?

When she decides to spill the beans to Mallard, and show him, the body is gone. Great for dramatic affect, but bodies don't just walk away on their own. Candy is off to figure out who else might have known about it and who might have had the motive to move it. The devil suit is a clue that finds Candy at the opera. The body makes another appearance floating in the river. Where are all these crazy clues leading? Who is moving the body?

Candy keeps poking into the matter to reveal the big secrets behind the killer, the motive, and, all the craziness. But not before the killer strikes again, and Candy closes in, in dramatic scenes that bring memories of the phantom of the opera to mind. There's even a suspenseful chase, deep within the bowels of the opera house to nab the bad guy.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Introduced by Mike Wallace, Spike opens with, Yes We Have No Bananas. Spike introduces radio's Woman of the Year, and park Avenue Hillbilly, Dorothy Shea. Spike jokes with her about her award then Dorothy sings, The Sample Song.

Spike introduces his individual City Slickers who then sing, My New Years Resolution.

Buddy Clark arrives, and both Spike and Dorothy talk about some of Buddy's accomplishments. Buddy sings his hit song, Ballerina.

After the mid show commercial, Spike plays a swinging melody.

Dorothy sings a song she wrote, Two Gun Harry from Tucuncary. Spike introduces Doodles Weaver as Professor Feetlebaum, who uses his fine voice to attempt singing, Loch Lomond. As usual, the song breaks out in a horse race along with the usual punny jokes.

Medley time. It starts with Buddy Clark singing, Small Hotel. Dorothy sings, When We're Alone. Spike wraps it all up with, Home on the Range.</itunes:summary>

The voiceover monolog and dramatic glimpses illustrate the years passing, the former slaves being educated. Particularly the accomplishments of George Washington Carver and his work in agriculture.

In other arenas, public health, oil booms, manufacturing, industry, and more are developed. Despite the set back of the Great Depression, modern industry, and World War 2 are the causes to make the South once again rise from the ashes. <itunes:summary>A slogan that was popular through the war, Kilroy was here, is the connection to a murder. Orson wells introduces us to a few exhibits, but lands on the scribble notes, hinting at a possible supernatural connection. The drama begins in the police office, and the report of a wealthy and well known man of the area. Mabel, a female nightclub singer found the body, and the cops check out more clues from the crime scene. what does Mr King know? Is there any friends or acquaintences who might want Mr Dolton dead?

Orson offers dramatic voiceover as the mundane and routine procedure plods forward. will any definitive reports come in?

A total of three murders are involved, and each time the slogan, Kilroy was here, is found at the scene. Speed becomes of the essence, and the investigation escalates. A connection between the blustering bully of a butcher is made to lawyer, Larry King, and the heat is on. A confession is forthcoming, but can it be trusted? Are all the facts in? Is there something being overlooked? Let's just say that Kilroy is more than just a slogan.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Fashion and style are the theme for the day. The sponsor is coming, and Gracie is joined by Senor Lee and Artie Shaw to make fun of George's suit. The Smooties sing, Argentina.

As George sets out to make a good impression for his boss, the Harvard sound man gives him grief. A representative from the sponsor enters to remind the cast of the particular nature of the sponsor. He is a stickler for immaculate appearances, and George gets teased again about his suit. Artie Shaw plays a jumping jazzy tune to transition.

Is George really as shabby as the cast make him out to be? Will the cast be able to make a good impression, and ask for pay raises? Will the sponsor make a good impression on the cast? The sponsor, a Yale man certainly has a conflict with the disgruntled Harvard sound man. In the end the cast need to make a decision that will affect them and their future employment.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>It's the comedy game show from Hollywood that pays the big bucks for the contestants who make it to the final round.

The fun starts with a pair of singles who might like to get married, if they could meet the right person. As Groucho plays matchmaker, we learn a little about the blonde beauty from Sweden, and the telephone repairman.
A junk man, and an engineer who is working on an electronic brain are teamed up. Groucho jokes his way through learning more about their specialized occupations.
A house painter and a house wife join forces. Groucho has fun with the painter, and we learn about the copper mining wife and her husband.

Will someone say the secret word for fast cash? Listen and enjoy.</itunes:summary>

The Nazis are to set up their own religion, and abolish Christianity. The time is around 1935, and we find Germans starting to put the new practices into place, with the Hitler youth heading out to practice target shooting, rather than going to trditional Sunday services.

The beginning of a new idolatry? Is there actually support for such claims? what might such a perverse religion look like? The drama atempts to portray and document these ideas. Even closing with a statement from the Pope at the time of this recording.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>As Mr Crane from the school newspaper interviews the Halls, he gets some hot tips on picking the World Series winner in baseball this year. Later, a letter about a donation to the campus comes. It's from Mrs Whitney, and besides wanting to pay for finishing a building project, she insists on erecting one of her famously ugly statues. This calls for a meeting of the board of regents to approve of the situation. Toddy isn't willing to compromise if the statue is insisted upon. At least, not without seeing it first.

For now, thoughts of ugly statues are put aside, and the Halls relive a few moments of their courtship back in England. The regents gather and do a little good natured, upper crust bickering among themselves. Will the statue be presentable? Will they decide to finish building the new gym? Toddy has his work cut out for him to be tactful as he declines the offer, and not offend anybody.

Note: in the show, Merryweather, normally played by Willard Waterman, is said to be called away and his twin brother will stand in for him. His brother is played by Gale Gordon. In the pilot episode, it was Gale Gordon who played the part of William Toddhunter Hall.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>As Vic and Sade get ready for an evening of playing cards, Sade accidentally calls Fred Stembottom, Ted. She claims that uncle Fletcher's habit of calling him that, plus Vic and Russel calling him Ted on purpose, have got her doing the same thing. She's so afraid the misuse of his name might upset Fred. Speaking of Fletcher, he enters to tell about his new job as ticket taker at the Bijou. The longer the discussion goes on, the more Ted is used rather than Fred, and Sade gets more defensive over the proper name. Maybe she's just worried she'll let it slip and embarrass herself.

Trivia:

Uncle Fletcher is filling in as a ticket taker at the Bijou. The regular ticket taker is Ray Fadler, brother of Ernie Fadler and Emmett Fadler.
Sutter Street is mentioned for the first time. There's a hardware store there.
Hyena Grease is mentioned by name as something Uncle Fletcher uses to oil his shoes.

<itunes:summary>It's that time of year, and we find Connie Brooks and Mrs Davis in the kitchen diing Easter eggs. Harriot pops in to get the eggs on to boil. The gals discuss Easter fashions. Walter enters and has a new dye that he invented in the science lab. There's a delay action so the color won't show up until tomorrow. There has to be a mix up brewing in here somewhere, I just know it.

When Mrs Davis has some new beauty cream, and Stretch Snodgrass visits the mix up happens. We now have beauty cream that is actually dye that doesn't show up for 24 hours. But wait, it's only the beginning of the miracle invention.

The comedy builds when Mr Conklin wants to use the beauty cream to get rid of a mark on his face. With reporters, and plenty of chance for a photo op, the staff turns out to be a colorful bunch for all to see. At least Connie has a bright spot in the show when she gets a special treat out of her ordeal when she spends time with Boynton.</itunes:summary>
