The Whistler – The Letter. ep16, 420829

Hans is a scientist who hopes for some backing to support his continued research. He may even wed the niece of his benefactor, but does Kurt also have eyes for her? As part of a secret society, Hans gets the short straw to perform his duty… to kill someone. Choices are taken from him as the political group threatens Hans if he quits, evades the task, or doesn’t finish it in time. Is his benefactor, Gallay really a Nazi?

Police inspectors find evidence that Hans is their man, and the niece is heartbroken. Kurt warns Hans to flee the country, and goes to offer comfort, and drop hints that Hans might not be the absent minded scientist he led everyone to believe he was.

Time passes, Nazi’s roll through, and later, Hans returns. The intrigue of spies, Nazi’s, and political upheaval makes things convoluted for Hans, but secrets begin unfolding. Hans is falsely accused of being a Nazi, but the Whistler knows the truth, and the twist to who really killed Gallay.

Note: Uncredited, but sounds like Lurene Tuttle is the neice, and Frank Nelson is Kurt.
