Though her baby isn’t due for a few more months, Sally’s baby is at the center of today’s visit with the Carters. Sally marvels that her baby will be about the same age as the expected baby prince of England. All Jim can think of is the stark comparison of the lack of riches that he’ll be able to offer. With the only phone in the apartment building, the Carters often have a visit from young Nickie. When she has once again been stood up for a date, Jim hooks her up with a friend, Charlie.
Was it a good idea to get Charlie together with Nickie? Jim couldn’t talk business with his old friend. What made Charlie think the Carters were hurting for money? Sally assures Charlie their home may be meager, but they have all they need for a happy home. Jim may have an offer to travel, but will the extra money be worth being away from his bride?
