Our Miss Brooks – Thanksgiving Turkey. 501119

Plans for Thanksgiving come down to the last moments. Mrs Davis already has plans to have dinner with her family, and absent minded sister. Spending the day with Boynton may be out of the picture, as is a day with her star pupil, Stretch Snodgrass. Will Walter, and an ad for the school newspaper grease the skids for Boynton to invite Connie to dinner? In his office, Mr Conklin expresses his thankfulness for Connie’s accident prone nature. Though his family will be visiting his mother in law, it’s his way of hitting up Connie for thanksgiving dinner.
Harriet has her own surprise. The reality is that the Conklin in laws are coming here, and she has shopping money for the modest dinner. Connie sees her chance to invite herself and Boynton over, but she’s going to need more cash to buy more fixings. To save money, Boynton figures a live turkey is the way to go. Joined by MacDugal the frog, Bernice the turkey enjoys a car ride. Is there more animal magnetism going on in the back seat than Connie is having in the front?

It’s off to the Conklin backyard to do the deed, and put the axe to Bernice. Walter and Harriet join in to chase the turkey. With critters on the loose, Connie manages to search the dark, lonely, closet… alone with Mr Boynton. Meanwhile, Mr Conklin has come home, tired, and wanting to take a nap. Stand by for slow burns, and mix ups, but will anybody ever get to enjoying a thanksgiving dinner?
