Our Miss Brooks – Arapaho Burial Grounds. ep104,, 501105

Connie Brooks listens as her landlady, Margret Davis describes her community working gathering toys for needy children. When Walter enters, he has urgent news he read from the paper. Does the discovery of one Indian relic mean there’s buried treasure near by? Passing the Conklin home to pick up Harriet, we find Mr Conklin outside measuring the empty lot next to his house to sell to an interested neighbor. At the school water fountain, Mr Boynton recognizes the pointed stick Connie picked up from the vacant lot as an Indian artifact.

Elsewhere, Mrs Davis arrives to check on the toy drive, and we learn about the broken toys that Hariot has managed to collect, including a toy bow and arrow. Connie and Walter busily research Arapaho artifacts in the school library. There seem to be similarities, so is the arrow a toy, or real?

Later, Walter, Connie, and Boynton dig in the lot to unearth debris. Did the Arapaho ride motorcycles? Meanwhile, as Conklin closes the deal with his neighbor, the excavation activity is noticed. Will the discovery of an Indian burial ground affect the sale? Should Conklin hold out for more cash for the lot that’s potentially worth $10k? Among the artifacts, a Shrunken head, a rusty six shooter, and a bow that’s made in Japan, means the list of Harriet’s broken toys are all accounted for.

Note: The neighbor to the Conklin, Mike Howard, is played by Jim Baccus of Gilligan’s Island fame. He was also the voice of Mr Magoo, and many other roles on radio shows.
