Lum and Abner – Abner Doesn’t Think Lum Can Be A Good Barber. 440125

With the barber chair installed, and arrangements made between Lum and Abner, Lum begins the day in good spirits. Abner is doubtful of the sales gimmick. How will it increase business to put the chair next to the library books? Lum figures he’ll steal away all the business from Mose pretty quick.

For now, Lum needs to borrow against his wages as delivery boy for Abner. You know… until the millions start rolling in from the barber business. Abner lets Lum know that Mose isn’t thrilled over Lum’s competition. Should Lum be worried over the muscles that Mose has?

Lum is so sure of his ability that he bets he’ll shave the next person who enters the store.
What if it’s one of them Bates youngin’s. They don’T shave you know. Lum has his bets hedged by having promised Mousey a kick back if he comes over for a shave. Imagine Lum’s surprise when the next person to darken the door is Mose.
