It’s tough to get tickets to a top running Broadway play, but Phil has secured just enough for himself, Alice, Frankie, and for Sammy the drummer to take a date. Discussing their cultured love for the theater, the cast is visited by sponsor, Mr Scot, who drops hints that he’d love to go. Will Phil have to give the ax to someone? Alice sings, I’m in Love with a Wonderful Guy.
Now over committed with tickets, Phil goes on a mission to butter up the ticket sales lady, but nothing is available, other than low budget, no name shows. Back on the hunt for another ticket speculator, Phil tries to break out in a number from the musical, but it’s just not his style. Instead he sings, Choo Choo Idaho.
Beginning to worry that Mr Scot, and the whole Rexall company will be against him, all Phil can do is head to the theater. Julius arrives, and is quickly marked to try to part him from a ticket. Sweet talk, bribes, and not even a May West style seduction from Alice will make Julius give up his tickets. Alice is rescued from forfeiting her tickets, when Remley saves the day by a favor from the theater manager. Somehow it doesn’t go well for Mr and Mrs Scot.
Note: Phil jokes that Sammy the drummer only likes songs that sound like Ragg Mopp, a tune that was topping the charts, and would go on to be a top 10 hit of the year. Also, Willie mentions Phil’s real name, Wonga.
