Lum and Abner – Lum Worried About Having Squire Arrested. 431122

Cedric enters, worried over what Squire might say if he knew he were in the Jot Em Down store. He’s bringing his contract over to be sure it’s OK. What’s a one way contract, and should Cedric worry about taking a trip and not getting home? Cedric is as nervous and jumpy as a rabbit’s nose.

Can Cedric get the $10 that was promised him? Lum looks over the legal wording. Showing off his expertise with multiple syllable legal sounding words, Lum gives his professional opinions. All Cedric wants is his money. Is there any hope of that at all?

Not finding any legal blanks to file an arrest for Squire, and his operation of a theater on a second floor, Lum figures he ought to write it up himself. He knows all them big legal words anyway. Grandpap enters to revisit his own legal matter against Squire, and his broken contract for his piano. Lum begins to drag his feet over pressing charges, thinking it’ll be construed that he’s leveraging his position for business gain. Grandpap isn’t having any of that, and insists on pressing charges.
