The story is highly compressed, and relies heavily on voice over, but it doesn’t take away from the action. One glaring point of difference is in the origin of how young Dan Reed came to be the sidekick of the masked man. Sure, he’s the nephew of the Lone Ranger, and the presentation here may match with the story in the movies, but Dan’s early appearances in the radio show are different. He seems to have come out west, fully a teenager, and straight from fine schooling to find his uncle.
