Not making much progress in proposing to Mable Melrose, Lum and Abner are back in the Jot Em Down store. Grandpap has had enough of his painting job that he started after his success in the recent art exhibit, but he can’t get out of it. The government has a job freeze, and he’s stuck to it. A matter which confuses Abner. If grandpap is froze, he ought to wear a coat and gloves. Still, grandpap has his ways, and announces his new job as telegram delivery boy.
