Fibber McGee and Molly – Alice Darlings New Boyfriend. ep403, 440509

Molly wants Fibber to look nice for meeting Alice Darling’s new boyfriend. He gets confused over a crossword puzzle he’s working on. Bert arrives, but instead of rushing off to have fun, Fibber insists they hang out in the living room. When it rains, the storm burst… er… thunder cloud… er, you know what Fibber means… … keeps the young couple forced to stay in. Billy Mills plays, Poinsienna.

Though Fibber is cozy on the davenport with Molly and Bert, Alice has to sit alone. Molly keeps making excuses for the youngsters to be left alone, but Fibber insists on doing parlor tricks, and looking at photo albums. Mr Wellington pops in to ask for the loan of his umbrella back. As Fibber continues his quest for a rubber band for doing card tricks, Harlowe Wilcox enters to pitch the sponsor.

The hints at being left alone keep coming, but Fibber is oblivious. Even going to the kitchen to make fudge fails, when Beulah enters. Will Fibber get his rubber band for that trick? The Kingsmen sing, The Enchilada Man.

Doesn’t Alice and Bert want to hear about the time when Fibber was in vaudeville? Saved by the bell, Mister Robert Richards, actually Arthur Q Brian, is a neighbor who just moved in a few days ago. Finally left alone, the youngsters turn out the lights… hold hands… and are interrupted when Fibber finds his rubber band.

Note: Guest voice to play Bert is Mel Blanc.
