Buck, Wilma, and Doc Huer have taken an underground trip to the City of Ore. A city full of uranium, and other precious metals and geological compounds.
Our heros are about to leave with samples of gold and uranium when Doc is missing, and the lives of the peple of the city are in danger. Can the mechanical mole help save the city and its inhabitants?
The impending calamity involves a blocked water tunnel, and the water supply can’t get through. As the city official explains the dangers in great detail, he tells of the futuristic technology that keeps the city going so far under the earth. Dangerous gas also threatens the city, and it’s only right that Buck fix the whole mess, since it was him in the mechanical mole that caused it.
There’s something familiar about that gas… Hey, didn’t the first expedition under the earth end up with the mole finding a gas pocket? Uh-Oh. There just may be anexplosion before the show is done. And Wilma is trapped outside the protection of the mole!
