Upper Room – Two Heads Are Better Than One. ep5. (retro561)

The series seems to be one that presented a variety of lessons for the Christian life. If today’s installmentt is an indication, short series were ran in the show, and featured well known guest writers or producers.

The only series in the show I know that exists is this six part lesson series on, “So You Want to Stay Married”. Written by Carlton E Morse, most well known for his shows, “I Love a Mystery,” targeted at middle school aged boys; and “One Man’s Family,” a long running soap opera. Carlton E Morse doesn’t seem to have been overtly Christian in his personal life, but the influences of a well grounded Christian upbringing seems evident in the ethic and morality he brought to “One Man’s Family,” and in the relationships presented in this series of shows. He seemed to have a great concern for America being strong, by making solid family values a priority.

In today’s show, a young couple face the trauma of going through a divorce. With the sage advice of a judge, to offer marriage counseling, Ruth and Gordon work through the conflict of expectations one has for the other.

Attitudes and expectations, common interests concerning life and children, all present issues that may not have a clear resolution, but they need to be addressed and worked through together. A lot of consideration and understanding will go a long way to keep things patched up.
