21st Precinct – A Missing Persons Alarm For An Old Man.

It’s just another day in the life of a cop when a uniformed police officer on the beat helps out a woman in need with a nickel, a cigarette, and directions to get her home. A 78 year old man is rousted from sleeping in the hall. Why did he pick that hallway? Refusing to give his name, the man goes by Pops. Meanwhile, Captain Canelli keeps up on the administrative protocols in the station.

A missing persons report already in the system identifies Pops, but he still doesn’t want to go home. Routine crime reports are filed on various cases, and Pops is made comfortable. Why doesn’t he want his daughter to know where he is? Canelli tries to get him to tell more about why he left.

The phone keeps ringing in the nerve center of the precinct with murders, and assaults, as Mrs Heffel arrives to inquire about her father. In the 8 years since her mother died, her dad has never ran off before. Why did he do it this time? A fight over why his other daughter hasn’t been helping with caring for the old gent had created bad feelings. Will the family situation be all patched up?
