Still having amnesia trouble, the solution seems to have Buster V Davenport do some courting with aunt Charity. Lum and Abner discuss their disastrous attempts thus far to spark a memory, but only serving to make Buster hate and despise Milford Avery Spears all the more. Abner shares why he’s against his woman getting a beauty treatment. Looking all rosy jawed, and artificially flavored and scented, those cows in the barn might get scared of a stranger, and not give milk.
Cedric enters to share some difficulties with his car. Will he take aunt Charity to the beauty salloon at the county seat? His tires are good, but he may have trouble with his ration book for gas. Lum suggests Cedric could car pool to make up for the gas coupons he will spend on the special trip.
The trouble is that Cedric is already car pooling, and he explains how it hasn’t been working out for him. Though he has made extra trips to save on gas, even the gents are confused, and think maybe somebody is stealing gas from Cedric’s tank.
