George talks with Liz about some interesting newspaper articles. They remember the old days, and the old cars that used to roam the earth. They talk about old items around the house that they should get rid of. Liz jokes with George about his body building equipment, and his lack of using it. George wants Liz to get rid of her old player piano. To prove her point, Liz has the piano moved into the living room, has it tuned, and arranges to take lessons.
The piano teacher, professor Krausmeyer, actually Hans Conried, is her original piano teacher from when she was a little girl. Is Liz a lost cause? Not if she has the three qualifications of the professor. He also has a radio tallent show, and if a student takes enough lessons, they stand a good chance to be on the show. If the student pays for even more lessons, they even stand a chance of winning.
Liz is determined to practice, and be on that radio contest. The noise is driving George nuts, but he sees his only recourse as going to Professor Krausemeyer to make her stop. Instead, George is talked into taking violin lessons.
Becoming wise to the professor’s scam with awarding his tallent contestwinner to the highest bidder, George secures his first prize position. George and Liz believe they have the inside track to winning the tallent contest, and their arguments and pranks on each other are cute and comical. George hides all of Liz clothes. Liz locks George into the house.
Wearing a suit of George’s clothes, Liz goes to the radio studio. It looks like she may win, but George manages to show up. There’s only time for one more contestant, so they both play at the same time. So who wins? The professor gets himself out of a jam by awarding a prize to the best piano and violin duet.
