As our adventurers have been exploring the strange Martian city, Lenny has been found, but Mitch is gone.
As Doc and Jet go to look for Mitch, Lenny gets a radio call from the voice he heard earlier. There’s someone outside his vehicle and he is calling him to leave the safety of his expedition vehicle and join Mitch in the city. Lenny isn’t falling for it, but can he resist the hypnotic influence?
When Jet and Doc return, they find signs of a struggle. Lenny had managed to resist, and had a fight with the stranger who had been wearing Mitch’s space suit, but was Maclain, one of the missing crew of vehicle #2. Lenny tells Jet about what was said about never returning to Earth. Is the crew destined to be stranded here? Will they ever return? Hey, they only have 5 more episodes to do it in.
The question of the wierd hypnotic state that the astronauts have been experiencing comes back up. Who has been doing it, and why? Can they fight against the mind control?
Jet and Doc talk about their past experiences in an effort to figure out who and what is going on, and in helping the listener review the mysterious events thus far.
When Maclain begins to come around he is drawn by his hypnotic control to want to leave, and return to the Martians. Jet wants to keep him here to help him overcome his mind control condition. It may be a tough job with violent side affects.
When a UFO is seen taking off, Jet is certain it contains the missing crew. They prepare to drive across the Martian desert to try to catch up with them. Interesting, but why don’t they just radio back to their base station at the polar ice cap and send a rocket ship to fly after them? It’s not my story, so I’ll just let it be told the way it is.
The scene cuts to an Australian farm family. They find Mitch, who tells them his story of being lost. The farm family lend him help, and let him use their radio. Are they really helping? When Mitch challenges the farmer, it ends up in a gunshot. And the results will have to wait until our next exciting installment of the Red Planet. Stay tuned.
