Journey Into Space – The Red Planet 11of20. 541215

The exploration of Mars has begun. For three days, the caravan of explorers has been making their way across the polar ice caps of the Red Planet, but not without certain adventures and tragedies.

A radio signal comes in from vehicle #2 when they see mysterious lights. A crash is suspected, and radio contact is lost. Can they be reached in time, before the sun sets and they freeze to death? Mitch and Lenny have trouble with the rugged terrain, but can Jet and Doc do any better?

Since the vehicles can’t manage it, will this require another mission on foot? Darkness sets in, but hopes raise when lights are spotted. But if the crew has crashed, how can those lights be travelling so fast?

When day breaks, the missing crew seems to be spotted. There’s still no radio contact, but the distant vehicles are put into working order, and begin speeding across the vast plains of the Martian tundra, since the edge of the ice caps have been reached.

Lenny and Mitch, and Jet and Doc take off after them. Will the remaining vehicles be able to catch up? When they do, there’s a surprise, and mystery when the crew is missing. Whatever made those foot print tracks isn’t wearing regulation astronaut boots.
