Gildy gets the house ready for Marjorie’s Halloween dance party. Of course, as Birdie makes the tasty treats, he can’t resist trying to sample a few. If Birdie will let him. Gildersleeve shares some Halloween pranks with Leroy. When one of Marjories boyfriends arrives they rap in jivey teenage slang, and he plays a few boogie riffs on the piano. Looks like it’s time for those squares to leave, and leave the teens to their jitterbugging.
When Leroy takes off for some good old trick or treating, Gildy seeks company with Leila Ransom. The couple end up in Peavey’s drugstore. Leila wants to plan a real Halloween party for the adults to enjoy. Things could get interesting when Peavey suggests inviting Miss Goodwin, the school principle. Apparently Leila hasn’t met her yet. As regular listeners know, Miss Goodwin has been Gildy’s latest flame since the season started, and Leila’s late arrival back to Summerfield. Oh Gildersleeve, you mad impetuous boy! There’s not going to be a cat fight among all the apple bobbing, and party games is there?
