Lum and Abner – Charlie Redfield Takes The Witness Stand. 421230

The towns folk are again crowded into Ira Hodgkins livery stable to witness the trial of Cedric. Squire demands respect, and that the noisy cow be removed from the court room. Charlie Redfield is called to the stand.

Try as he might, Squire tries to follow proper court protocol, but the mooing cow, squeaky shoes on the bailiff, noisy jurors, and others interrupt. Though Lum can’t defend Cedric directly, he manages to put words into Abner’s mouth, even before he asks them.

Testimony isn’t looking good for Cedric. Who’s side will the kidnapping incident weigh heaviest on? for Cedric, or for Winifred? It’s Abner’s turn to ask questions, but Lum fends off the weak lawyer with distractions, and a break for lunch.
