David Harding, Counterspy – German Spies. 421214

The scene opens in Pittsburg with Henry Hughes a man with marital trouble. Is he unfaithful to his wife, or is it she who is cheating on him? He is only doing the things he does, so he can return to the mother country, and hopes for the real important job. What’s more important, being true to her husband, or to her own country?

David Harding activates his network of numbered spies and operatives, when the wife of the well placed defense contractor turns up dead. Will he be able to recruit the firms bookkeeper to gather information? Suspicious activities soon emerge.

How can David break the news gently that the daughter of a well to do family is seeing a spy? Dad takes it well, but the young lady is distressed, and in denial. There’s something worse afoot with the wealthy family, and David kicks the lid off the secrets as he nabs the enemy.
