Space Patrol – Journey To Troganok. ep97, 540807

Meeting with a top astronomer, Commander Correy learns there may be a problem happening on the sun. Strange radiation patterns are found, and a distant star Troganok holds the key. Jumping into hyperspace, our heros could make the journey quicker than any trip through the solar system. Days go by without word from Commander Correy, and criminals in the solar system run amok. Has he gone off into a time trap? Will he and Cadet Happy ever return?

On Troganok, Correy and Happy feel the affects of jet lag… er, make that space lag. They also get a unique look at the stars from a new angle that has never been seen on earth. Getting down to business, they follow their instruments, and further discuss the science behind hyperspace and hyper drives.
Little do they know that despite no harmful radiation from the distant star, their star drive ship has been sabotaged. Will they be able to repair it themselves? Is there a planet that might be inhabitable? Though a planet is conveniently at hand, more repair needs arise to complicate their hopes of ever returning home. Also conveniently, a higher form of life has been observing our stranded heros to see what they’re up to. The benevolent race has already repaired the ship, and offers a warning about the evil life force that sabotaged the cruiser. More dangers await them even after they make their return journey.

Don’t worry, those nasty criminals won’t last long once Commander Correy is back in his own element.

PS: There’s actually a nice bit of theme music at the end. Enjoy the extended musical addition as you do the happy dance and revel in the satisfaction of a case closed, and job well done.
