As Squire worries over the bills for the rocket company, Lum and Abner head to Luke Spear’s for dinner, and to get a break from the business of building rockets. Mousey is working in the restaurant as a waiter, as his way of rebelling against his wife, Gussie. Mousey has the hard news to deliver to the hungry gents about meatless Tuesday.
Are Lum and Abner patriotic enough to do their duty and respect the new meat rationing program? What can they order today? All their ideas are shot down. How about a nice plate of scrambled eggs? It’s highly recommended as the meatless special.
The gents are willing to settle for chicken, or even the fish,, just not the eggs. Why is Mousey so hesitant in letting them order what they want? All sorts of options are recommended… but none of them are in stock. And why do all the specials involve eggs? Will the gents ever be served their dinner?
