Lone Ranger – Mortgage On Wheat. 380722

An old pioneer couple, Jed and Mable Holstead, want to ensure a good wheat crop so they take out a mortgage to pay for planting equipment, helpers, and seed. The banker has a grudge, and wants their farm. The mortgage is worded so if they don’t pay before a set date, the land can be foreclosed on. The date is just before they can harvest, and the banker refuses to loan more money. He even leans on the neighbors to convince them not to help with the harvest.

As the old couple are leaving the homestead in failure, they meet the Lone Ranger. He has a plan, and sends them back to the ranch to wait for him to work. But can he? Time is short, and there’s no hope of getting laborers. It’s a race against the clock, but more than justice is done when the Lone Ranger brings help from the three Holstead boys.
