Judy Canova – First Show. ep1, 430706

Judy returns to Rancho Canova after a whirlwind tour with the Hollywood crowd and a Bond Tour to raise money for the war effort. She shares about the men in uniform, and even about the women in uniform that she met. In her trademark yodeling style, Judy sings, Some of These Days. Tex is Judy’s ranch foreman, and just a little protective of her charms when Ken Niles enters the picture. What do the rest of the cow hands think of Miss Judy? Tex sings, When the Desert Sun Goes Down.

Sylvester arrives with Judy’s station wagon to pick her up from the train station. Run for your umbrellas when the saliva spraying Sylvester starts talking. Voiced by Mel Blanc, and just as you might expect if Sylvestor the cat were on the show.

Some boogie woogie piano takes us past the commercial break. Back at the ranch we meet aunt Phoebe, Judy’s housekeeper. She comes to the defense of Judy’s honor when she thinks Ken Niles might be a wolf. Is she right to be concerned over Hollywood wolves? She’s willing to sacrifice herself quickly enough to demonstrate to Judy the hazards of the advances of a wolf. After seeing his room, Ken Niles gets to watch a real Western round up.

Get ready for more yodeling fun when Judy sings, My Love Pass Me By.
