The Shadow – The Bride Of Death. 380306.

Superstitious omens foretell the tragedy of death. A mysterious explosion has killed the reverend Colby, and ten others. Lamonte Cranston is on the scene with Margot Lane to investigate a wierd religious cult. The skeptical Lamonte thinks the deaths are more founded in a murder plot than in random superstition. There’s plenty to spark fear with all the creaky doors, foghorn, and creepy characters as lamonte arrives on the dark foggy night.

The Shadow gets busy in confronting the cult leader. When Margot Lane is missing, has the prophet done something to her? Has the Shadow met a match for his mystic powers to cloud mens minds?

Elsewhere, a woman is being prepared by the cult members for a sacrificial ceremony. The entry ways are all guarded by panthers, but still the Shadow manages to get through to confront the prophet and stop the ceremony. Will it help? Will the ceremony go on without the prophet? The Shadow has a plan to expose the murderous intent, but he needs a little help from Margot to spring a trap.

There stands to be an explosive, dangerous scene, and the Shadow has his work cut out to prove his powers are stronger than the brainwashing of the bogus prophet.

  1. Wow,this one has got everything. Orson Welles and Agnes Moorehead are really in the thick of danger, with that old house in the fog the headquarters of an evil cult guarded by panthers! Some of the later Shadow stories are a bit formulaic but this one has a lot of zing.
