In times of emergency a leader somehow arises to rally the people. Today Fibber has taken on the important war time task of getting the word out on the Red Cross. He shares with Molly about the importance of his fund raising effort to provide medical provisions to the military. Taxes to the government goes only so far, but the Red Cross lets you give through civic channels, and from the heart. Abigail Uppington pops in. What does she know about fund raisers? What does she know about shooting craps with Fibber? Probably more than he would be comfortable with. Billy Mills plays a jumping little tune.
So far Fibbers funds are in the red, but not the Red Cross. The mail girl visits, but the news isn’t what Molly thinks when its about striking oil.
Will Fibbers plan of gambling win more funds for charity, or just set him deeper in debt? Harlowe Wilcox visits with a sponsor slant on the Red Cross.
Going deeper into debt, Fibber and Molly argue over banking terms, then Wallace Wimple pops in to make matters worse. The Kingsmen sing, Airmen of the Navy Blue.
Teeny visits, but will she have any money to pitch into the pot? It looks like time to go to the bank to let banker MacDonald know about Fibbers checks that will be bouncing in soon. He’ll understand.. right?
Note: MacDonald is voiced by the future Doc Gamble, Arthur Q Brian.
