Adventures in Research – The Immigrant Inventor. ep9, 430330

Michael Popien was a Cerbian shepherd boy some 80 years prior to this recording. His early experience taught him how to use the hardened ground to communicate with sound waves. A technique to keep his flock safe against thieves. It was the beginning of his love for mechanical things.

Immigrating alone to America, Michael struck out to make his name in the world. With a nickel to his name, Michael worked farm and factory jobs. Finding a mentor, Michael went to college to pursue his dream of a life as a scientist.

His research led Michael to become an inventor, making things to contribute to the radio age. Without his work electrical tuning, and long distance telephony would not have been possible. Michael’s other work included secondary x-ray frequencies.
