An early morning phone call gets Johnny started on his way to the city, the Equitable building, and the scene of emergency vehicles. Was the victim a jumper, or was he pushed? A string of carbides to boost his expense account and question ing, lands Johnny at the feet of a distraught wife. Her tears are calmed, but she becomes upset when she begins to believe Johnny’s investigation will only serve to keep her parted with insurance money that’s due to her.
