Dragnet – The Big Mug. 550104.

Assigned to robbery detail, it’s the job of Joe Friday to find a strong arm robber who has been terrorizing the city for weeks now.

Frank Smith demonstrates the latest invention, a speaker phone that will revolutionize the way phone calls are taken and shared with others. The partners are sent out to interview the latest robbery victim.

The hysterical woman, and other clues send the cops out to develop information, but the investigation runs flat. The description if vague, there doesn’t seem to be much of a pattern to his crimes. The man keeps his robberies where he roughs up the victim, and takes their money, no matter how much or little they may have.

A break comes when a name for a suspect is forthcoming. The guy has an alibi, but is there someone who has it out for him? The cops are doing all they can to monitor the streets, but the small time thug keeps slipping past them.

Friday gets lucky when he breaks up a robbery while it’s going down. There’s more than one robber, and they are given the third degree, but can they be the ones the cops have been looking for? Who is the third partner they mention? Suddenly an end is in sight, but Friday wants the big fish who is connected with these little fish.
