Superman – The Mystery Ship 2of6. ep409, 421224

Listeners are encouraged to tune into a Christmas special featuring Bob Hope, and a host of other friends. The government, in an act to get worded coins back into circulation is giving the kiddies the green light to crack open their piggy banks. And buy those war bonds and stamps of course.

After their abrupt ending to the expedition to Atlantis, our heroes have found themselves on the deck of an abandoned tanker. Exploring the decks have proven there is no cry. So, how is the large ship sailing itself?

Splitting up, Doc Cameron heads out with his crewman Nicodemus, while Perry, Lois, and Clark try to fatind the engine room. Everything seems in order in the cabins. The lights are all on, but there’s nobody home.

Finding the engine room, will Clark find the right lever to pull to stop the ship? With that job done, will they be able to drop anchor by themselves? Perry and Lois marvel at Clark’s odd nature of being either fearful, or brave and commanding, depending on the situation. Yeah… how about that.

Through the foggy night, on a ship that’s empty of crew, a shout comes through the night. What could this mean? Has Cameron and Nicodemus ran up on a problem?

Note: The invitation to take in that hour long Christmas special starts at 11PM. I guess that doesn’t extend to the kiddies, since it would get over at the time when Santa ought to be making his rounds. Oh wait… the government has already asked them to spend all their loose change on war bonds, and to ask for war bonds in place of toys… so I guess the least they can do is stay up until midnight to watch him fly past their house in his sleigh. You know… going to the house of the stingy kids who aren’t patriotic enough to do their duty.
