Radio City Playhouse – The Night Before Christmas. 491215

Not a show about spying on Santa as he brings his brand of Christmas cheer to the kiddies. Instead our story starts in the hectic newsroom of a city editor’s office, The star reporter and his photographer have their Christmas Eve party plans put on a back burner to take care of a personal favor to the managing director’s snooty wife.

More than a little disgruntled at how the party hostess and fellow newsie will feel about missing her party, and being forced into personal servitude, the quest for two goats and a red wagon is begun. On the way, fires, trouble on the bridge, and even a dead body won’t deter the focus of finding goats in the city.

Finally, due to a bargaining deal, our heros show up to deliver not only two, but three goats. A harness is made out of neckties, but before they can make their hasty retreat, the snooty biddy isn]t impressed with their work. The situation that seems to have been been a losing proposition from the beginning gets a touch of Christmas magical justice to ensure thereporters will all still have jobs in the morning, put the uppity lady in her place, and what about that extra goat?
