Great Gildersleeve – Thanksgiving Dinner. ep57, 421122

The continued war time propaganda continues as Gildy deals with the need to apply for a ration book that will get him more privileges. Does he actually need it, since he now has a job with the town government? Leaving the Woter Commissioner’s office in the capable hands of his secretary, Miss Fitch, he tries to get the judge to sign off on the application for the rations. Instead they end up bickering.

At home, Birdie sells raffle tickets to her boss to win a prize turkey. It ought to
come in handy to serve the family, plus 4 servicemen who have been invited from the base. Will the extra tickets ensure Gildy will win the turkey?

By the time Gildy learns he didn’t win, it’s too late. All the turkeys at the meat market are reserve, and there’s little hope of getting one. Definitely not an item that Peavey carries in his drug store. Gildy saves the day when he learns who did win that raffle. It just takes a heartfelt apology to judge Hooker.
