Academy Award Theater – If I Were King. 460511

Featuring Ronald Coleman, as he reprises his role he portrayed in the hit film. A man from the streets of merry old Paris recites his poetry to the ladies of nobility. The high class cuties are out of his league to respond to his wolf calls, and boasting what he would do, if he were king. The city is under siege from the army of Burgundy, street people are under the threat of torture and the gallows, and not feeling the love from the king.

Finding himself in position to overthrow a corrupt chief constable, Ronald Coleman finds himself before the king. Will the monarch be grateful in getting rid of the traitor, or will he be obligated to hang the gutter snipe for killing a man of the nobility? Ronald finds himself holding down the cheif constable job to get a taste of what it’s like to be in charge. Will he still be so flippant in wanting to be king?

Along the way, he is in position to catch the eye of that high class cutie who he spouted his poetry to. We find the king had only been toying with him, and after his week in office,Ronald is to be hanged anyway. Still, he manages to see his maiden fair once more, and rallies his own army of street people to divert their intent of riot and plunder to rescuing the city.

Will it win the heart of the king? Probably not. Will it win the heart of his lady? You’ll have to listen and find out as the story comes full circle.
