Jack Benny – Insurance Medical Exam. ep848, 530524

Don flashes us back to earlier in the week at Jack’s home. He pokes around his kitchen for something to snack on, how about making an egg, or some orange juice? Is Rochester playing games with the food behind Jack’s back? Rochester dozes, but Mary may hold the secret that Jack’s looking for. Don has the Sportsmen on the phone for a classy sponsor message. Being an Armed Forces Radio copy of the show, the commercial is missing.

Jack isn’t finished getting ready yet. Dennis Day pops in to tell his daily ritual of rising early. Dennis sings, My Love is Deep as the Sea.

Jack has to rush out for a visit with his insurance company. He has to fill out a questionaire for the doctor. He does well, up to the part about passing a lie detector test about his age. Bob Crosby leaves the doctors office to tell Jack about his x-ray.

Frank Nelson is the doctor, with assistant, Mel Blanc. The two doctors have fun with x-rays, and medical termonology. Not to mention swallowed coimns, and horse races.

Note: Music plays as Jack undresses. A Pretty Girl is Like a Melody. You might think it would’ve been, The Stripper, by David Rose. However, that tune, as classic as it is, wasn’t written until a few years later than this.
