Great Gildersleeve – Selling The Drugstore. ep26, 420222

Leroy and Gildersleeve praise the special cooking tallent of the housekeeper, Birdie. Being George Washingtons birthday, plenty of patriotic jokes fill the air. Since Washington famously could not tell a lie, Leroy gets in trouble when he’s caught in a few.

To document his accounting of the Forrester estate that was left to Marjorie and Leroy, Gildersleeve has to get the books ready on the drugstore they own. The temptation to lie is great, but with Leroy present, Gildersleeve is forced to be truthful about the failing business.

Leroy has the day off school for Washingtons birthday, and thinks he can help rescue the drugstore, and improve business there. Will the deceit in doing business continue with Leroy hanging around? What about lies in the art of love? Gildy tries to pour on the charm to Miss Twitchel, the owner of a laundry. Will he get her to take the drugstore off his hands?

Ditching Leroy at the movie house, Gildersleeve has the chance to tell his twisted truth to a business assessor. Or is he? Gildy tries to under value the drugstore, but Leroy is taking a break from his movie, to have an ice cream treat, and keep his uncle honest. Instead of being a tax assessment, Gildy gets a pleasant surprise, and his honesty pays off.
