As they often do, George and Gracie enter to joke about dating other people, and their fashionable nightlife. Topics also include Christmas shopping, and Senor Lee’s crazy butchering of the English language. After Gracie announces her intention for doing her play later, the disgruntled sound man shares his own Christmas moment.
The play is a musical, full of jabs at the characters in the cast. Gracie is a newspaper reporter who is out to clean up the town. To get an inside scoop, she convinces her staff of reporters to get arrested and get a first hand look at the corruption in the system. Artie Shaw plays a mellow dance tune.
With the entire staff of reporters languishing in jail, and no actual scandal, can Gracie help them escape? Will they all emerge as concquering heros? The play ends in a grand musical finale to say goodbye.
