Our Miss Brooks – Babysitting For Three. 481114

The day starts out as it typically does, with Mrs Davis getting Connie out of bed to face the day. It’s Sunday, but if she can help it Connie plans to run into Mr Boynton.

First, she needs to check on a student who has been missing from class. Eddie reveals that his dad has been working out of town, and mom is in the hospital, so he has had to watch his two little brothers, and the baby. The soft hearted Connie Brooks gets talked into babysitting for a little while. Where could Eddie be? The ordeal turns into a favor that lasts over night, but mom should be coming home the next day, and Eddie along with her.

In the morning, Connie needs a favor. The cupboards are bare, and maybe her student, and usual ride to school, Walter can drop off some groceries for her. Her terse phone message leads to a chain of misinformation. Jumping to conclusions, starts a rumor mill turning, and soon Connie is in the spotlight of an embarrassing situation.

Before she knows it, all her friends converge on her with suspicions of an overnight fling with Mr Boynton. The presence of the kids adds extra fuel to the assumptions that the two teachers might be playing house in a secret life together. The explanation, and truth eventually emerges, but not after plenty of comic moments.
