Great Gildersleeve – Leroy’s Paper Route. ep3, 410914

As he frets over the household expenses, Gildersleeve has to deal with Leroy, and a model airplane he wants. Can he justify the expense when he makes his report to judge Hooker? Instead, Gildy convinces Leroy he ought to get a job to buy his toy.

Leroy is thrilled by the idea of his new job as a newspaper boy, and dedicated to his work ethic. The trouble is that everybody else in the house is squeamish over the 5AM reporting time to show up for work. Is this too much to ask of a 9 yearold boy?

Having compassion, Gildersleeve accompanies Leroy on his first day at selling papers on the street corner. New tech meets old tech when Gildersleeve has a minor collision with a horse drawn mail wagon. If anybody is having mishaps on the new paper route, it’s not Leroy.

As the pair trudge through the cold morning, a paper is tossed through the window of Judge Hooker’s house. In a panic, the judge calls on the police for a good old fashioned police dragnet. He thinks it may have been a potential bomb, and he wants to catch the terrorists red handed. Will the simple day on the job result in a day in court for Gildersleeve? Of course, but he still gets the uper hand with Judge Hooker.
