Clark responds to the sound of distantgrowls, and as Superman he springs into action to rescue Jimmy from a bear. Fast forward to the safety of the lumber camp, and our heros fill in the gaps. How did Clark manage to carry both the guide and Jimmy all the way without a sled? A few tall tales of Paul Bunyon are told for Jimmy’s education and amusement.
Deciding they’ve had enough dog sledding, Clark and Jimmy catch a train back to Metropolis. As they leave the snowy north and arrive back in the land of wheat fields, Jimmy spots a suspicious looking character. Clark explains the man is the famous Dr Roebling.
Clark approaches the strange man, but the doc is gruff as he brushes off the reporters. Now it’s Clark who suspects something is amiss with the inventor of a voice machine. What have they stumbled into? What kind of voice machine has been invented?
