Waking up in a hot place, Carl finds that he has died. The man who acts as his guide to his new realm is Satan, and the devil is amused at Carl’s unbelief.
To tease Carl a little, Satan tells him of the irony that though his soul is doomed, his body lays in a church. He gets a glimpse at his own funeral service. Too late Carl gets a wake up call about free will, and the chances he once had, and blown. Certain Carl can’t change, the devil grants him 24 hours where he can return to life, and has to do only good if he wants to prove he isn’t worthy of hell.
How will Carl’s wife take it to learn that he has returned. With his memories of where he has been a little fuzzy, will he remember his deal with the devil? Will he remember to be good… or else? How good will Carl be when he learns of the affair his wife is having with David?
The devil stacks temptations against him, but Carl makes a good start at his 24 hours. How will things go at the office? Good deeds are done, but will they be enough? Hint: Don’t count on it.
