The phone rings, the doorbell rings, and the stress level of the rapidly approaching marriage of Sara to Sidney is felt by all. Jake takes a delivery of a negligee for his daughter,, but the incoming calls seem to never end.
Yetta arrives home to hear of her dad’s stress in the command central, and his frustrations at being left home alone. He’s worried about the fancy and expensive trappings of the wedding, but mama arrives to calm him down.
Mama tosses her usual frugality to the wind when it comes to giving Sara the best of everything for the wedding. Will she have any luck in convincing Jake to go along with her? All Jake really needs to do is keep the checks flying as the woman folk run the show in orchestrating the details, and sending out invitations. He gets himself into trouble when he is caught forgetting to carry out mama’s instructions.
