A man is found shot dead on Nate Cooley’s ranch. The deputy has reason to believe a long time rivalry is enough to bring charges up on Nate. Also riding that trail, the Lone Ranger and Tonto finds signs the lawman missed. If it wasn’t old Nate, then who else might have had motive to kill the man? Will there be a lynching to stop?
Though the ranchers and sheriff are satisfied with the circumstantial evidence, Lone Ranger knows the killer, and his confession of the crime are bogus. Instead of a rivalry, Lone Ranger suspects cattle rustlers who had taken advantage of the personality conflicts to cover their tracks.
Knowwing the answer to the murder is one thing, but proving it to the sheriff will be another. Besides that, Lone Ranger will have to figure out why Nate’s son Doug confessed. Lone Ranger has the sheriff convinced, now it’s time to set a trap for the real killer. Saddle up and ride hard with the masked man, as he races against time. Will the posse be able to stop the rustlers, and explain the mystery?
