Will Mary believe the modern improvements that Jack made to his phonograph? Regardless, she reads the latest letter from home. Dennis Day jokes about his wacky relatives, then gives Jack’s phonograph to play his song for the show, Gonna Kiss You Good Morning.

Phil, Don, and the Quartet arrive to swap jokes. Phil mistook he recent earthquake for just being part of a drunken stupor. Anticipating the arrival of the scripts, instead it’s Steve Bradley, Jack’s publicity man who enters with news.
