Family Doctor – The Pageant. ep30, 1932

The acting bug seems to have bitten as the town’s first annual pageant draws near. Enthusiasm grows as participants practice their parts.

Acting as master of ceremonies, and with just about the entire town turned out, doc introduces the play and those in the parts. The stage lights are lit, the curtain goes up, and we get a glimpse of the action from the wings.

How will the romantic drama go down? Will the music and actors find their marks, and come in on cue? Will perfection win the day, or will all the numerous little dramas in the orchestration of the play all turn Mrs O’Malley into a nervous wreck? Can things on stage get any worse? How about a real life emergency, like a fire across town to put what’s really important to the forefront?
