Family Doctor – All Bets Are Off. ep20, 1932

In the drugstore, Doc talks with Pete about lawyer, Ralph Bates, and his grumpy attitude. Jess enters with Chick to hear Pete’s rant on his broken radio. Is there something wrong with Doc? He doesn’t seem quite himself.

When Chick mentions a gambling arrangement, doc is certain that it’s sure to put young Chick on a downward, slippery slope. Will the wager between Pete, Jess, and Chick lead to bad things to come?

The betting results get preempted, and doc enters to preach on the evils of gambling. A little uncharacteristic for doc, but nobody can be perfect. He learns a secret about Chick though that ought to clear up the worry about being led astray.
