It had been a long hard restless night that ended a hard week. All Philip wants to do is get some rest. Good luck.
A case comes to Marlowe from a man who fears that he’s the target for murder. He was thought to be abourd a yacht that blew up. With his second chance at life, he tells Pilip all about the situation. Could it be a business partner, or a disgruntled employee? Maybe the man’s wife? With Ben Rollins under wraps for protection, Philip hits the streets.
What does Slater, the disgruntled employee have to say about the personality conflicts among the players? Angie is the kind of dame that Philip could go for, but she turns pricly when he talks about the case. Who is the mystery man with the cigar? Lucille Rollins is a little too cool and collected as Marlowe investigates. The lights go out, a gun is shot, and Lucille screams.
Marlowe springs into action, but besides a hole in the wall, and frazzled nerves everybody is OK. What does this all mean? Who could have fired the shot?
All this and our story is only half over. Philip sets out to settle his questions, and to straighten some of the plot twists. There’s plenty of shady characters to choose from so don’t miss the hardboiled ending as Marlowe fights his way through the mystery. There’s still gunplay and danger in store, so listen in and see if you can untangle this mess before Philip does, and the body count rises.
And will Marlowe ever get any rest today? I’m sure he does, but wouldn’t that make for a boreing show?
