Mel Blanc – The Thanksgiving Show. 461126

As Thanksgiving draws near, courageous suitors all over town approach the fathers of their girlfriends to ask for a hand in marriage. What’s happening in the Colby house? Apparently things aren’t going as well as in other houses. Mel and Betty set the table, and in euphimistic terms, talk about their hopes for marriage.

Lodge brother Earl Ross takes advantage of the buffet style spread, and Mr Colby brings home his star employee, and manager at his supermarket, Willie Murdock. Willie offers advice to make things better for Mel, and his fix it shop. Zookie may stammer, but when it comes to girls, he manages to get his point across well enough without words. Can he tip off Mel that he’s in trouble yet again?

Victor Miller and the Sportsmen do a holiday flavored version of, Good Night Ladies. Things aren’t looking well for Mel, but his tragedies take a back seat when Mr Cushing pops in to break things up by telling his ordeal at the big football game. The Mighty Potentate of the Zebras gives the latest dirt on his nagging wife, and his disfunctional marriage. Colby has a hand at telling stories, but Mel has heard them before. Will Mel get the chance to sing, or do impressions? How will the meal go over without a turkey?

Will the secret behind why Mel didn’t have a turkey be exposed? Suddenly the lack of the main dish isn’t so bad after all.
