Mel Blanc – Mel Breaks The New Radio. 461105

Since it was date night the evening before, we look in on parlors across town to see how young lovers spent their time. Was Mel and Betty sharing in the romance?

Mel confides in Betty’s younger brother, Tommy, about how he feels about Mr Coldy. Is Mel presenting himself as being too weak? Should he have more confidence?

Mr Cushing, the Mighty Potentate of the Zebra lodge wants to tell mel about an important meeting tonight. Mr Colby is to be voted on as a member, but Mel is too busy to make the meeting to vote for his potential father in law. Maybe Zookie can deliver a box of candy as a gift to soften the old bird up? Colby would really be softened up if only he could have his radio fixed, and that Mel broke.

Victor Miller accompanies as the Sportsmen sing, Give Me Five Minutes More. Feelings are patched up, and Mel is on good terms with Colby, at least for a while. One thing that could still help is getting Colby into the lodge. As Colby storms out, Mel and Betty share a tender moment. Will Mel be given the chance to fix the console radio?

When he manages to break it even worse, Mel puts his acting ability to work. Colby is back, and Mel provides the voices to the radio drama that unfolds. Can he manage to imitate the orchestra at Carnegie Hall, or keep up with Colby’s channel surfing the radio dial? The only thing that saves the day is Mel’s deciding vote for that lodge membership. Will Colby get in? Can you say, “Ugga ugga boo, ugga boo boo ugga?”
