Judy Canova – Just Back From Cactus Junction. ep71, 460831

Judy opens with a song, Sun in the Morning and the Moon at Night. She has just returned from a visit to the family homestead in Cactus Junction, and talks to aunt Aggie about it. They remember good times with farm animals, then a flashback relives the moments that found Judy buying her ticket back to Hollywood. A little confusion ensues in figuring out what kind of berth to travel in.
Geranium joins the fun, and talks about her own clash with trains, and her boyfriend. Will Judy be in store for a welcome home kiss from her suave boyfriend, Bentley? Pedro visits to show ppictures of his hot new girlfriend in her bathing suit. Listen in for a description of his fun swimming at the beach. Will Judy’s fancy French perfume win her that long awaited kis from Bentley?

The Sportsmen join Judy for their harmonized version of, Three Blind Mice. The jokes switch to Judy swearing off having any doings with men, and Geranium fixing up a dress for her big date. Roscoe H Whorhall, a brash travelling salesman lays on the pick up lines, in hopes of taking Judy on a date. Will Judy see through his exaggerations?

Judy returns to flashback mode to relive moments featuring her ma and pa back in their sleepy home in Cactus Junction. With Judy playing her mom, and Mel Blanc as her dad, listen and learn about her home town boyfriend Luke. Back in the present, Judy talks with aunt Aggie about her new diet, before her final song. The Sportsmen join Judy to sing, I Don’t Know Why I Love You Like I Do.

Note: Usually Judy’s style of singing features crazy yodeling. Today she plays it more serious, and skips it, except for a bit of goofiness for the mid show song. She can actually sing well when she’s not going for comic affect.
